【【作文】春节英语作文】The Spring Festival is the most important traditional holiday in China. It usually comes in January or February. People celebrate it with many activities, such as family reunions, eating delicious food, and setting off fireworks.
Before the Spring Festival, families clean their houses to sweep away bad luck. They also put up red couplets on the doors. Red is considered a lucky color in Chinese culture. Children like this festival very much because they can get red envelopes filled with money from their elders.
On the eve of the Spring Festival, the whole family gathers together for a big dinner. There are many kinds of dishes, such as dumplings, fish, and rice cakes. These foods have special meanings. For example, dumplings look like gold coins, which symbolize wealth.
After the dinner, people watch the Spring Festival Gala on TV. It is a popular program that includes songs, dances, and comedy sketches. Children often stay up late to welcome the new year.
During the Spring Festival, people visit their relatives and friends. They greet each other with “Happy New Year!” and wish each other good luck in the coming year.
The Spring Festival is not only a time for celebration but also a time to remember our traditions and values. It brings happiness and warmth to everyone. I love this festival because it makes me feel close to my family and proud of my culture.
